Phillip Stearns, DCP_0267, 2012. 9” x 6”. Digital C-Print.RECOMMENDED: A Camera Darkly, curated by A. E. Benenson and featuring the work of Phillip Stearns and Christian de Vietri, is currently on view at The Camera Club of New York (336 West 37th Street, Suite 206) through June 23, 2012. The work on display engages early photographic techniques and the genre’s more contemporary forms. Stearns rewires a digital camera’s photosensitive chips to respond to electric pulses instead of light. The resulting images resemble 19th Century light-less entoptic images. De Vietri submits a series of Gustave Doré black and white lithographs to a scanner, which translates the prints into waves of color, suggesting a complex relationship between printmaking and digital production.

I’ve been talking with one of my closest friends Lyla all day every day for the past 5 days and the amount of support and encouragement we have for each other is just incredible. She is always the one person i can turn to for advice and a good laugh no matter what the occasion. I’m truly blessed to have her in my life… and to think we’ve only met in person once, and that was about 4 years ago. :)

Just a quick thought…

I’m watching the commencement ceremony right now to see some of my closest friends graduate, which somehow got turned into a drinking game. It occurred to me through not only watching these friends graduate, but watching all the guys I’ve hooked up with graduate, that I wish I could have treated these guys better. Particularly one guy who I find myself thinking about a lot lately.  So, with that being said, here’d a drunken letter from me to you on your Graduation day:

Dear #oomf,

sorry I was so awkward after our many hookups. It wasn’t that I was awkward because we hooked up, it was because I was embarrassed that I couldn’t remember half the times it happened O_O

sincerely wanting you,

Me
